Melissa Juchniewicz is a New England writer and a member of New Hampshire Writers' Project, Hyla Brook Poetry Workshop, and other writing communities.  A two-time winner of the MacGregor Prize for Poetry, her poetry and fiction have been published in literary journals including Light, Orca: A Literary Journal, and The Poet's Touchstone. A story collection is currently being serialized in MockingOwl.

Dr. Juchniewicz teaches writing, as well as children’s and young adult literature, at University of Massachusetts Lowell, and facilitates memoir writing workshops throughout New England. She’s also a popular speaker at libraries and other venues.

Along with many academic publications, Melissa was contributing editor and children’s book review columnist for Journal of the New England Reading Association.

Presently, Melissa’s focus is on writing short fiction.

She lives in an 1812 farmhouse in Chester, New Hampshire
